Spectators and participants alike enjoy the "World's Oldest Triathlon" that features a unique 5.82 mile run, 12.5 mile cycle and a 6.35 mile paddle combination. The events are held along the beautiful American River Parkway, between Rancho Cordova and Sacramento. Come watch and participate in this fun weekend on water and land! Centered in Henningsen Lotus Park, land activities include games, food, music, nonprofit and exhibitor booths, and great spectator seats. The 4th Annual American River Music Festival is a celebration of music and moving water. It features Americana, Folk and Blues music performances and workshops on a riverfront main stage, in three riverfront campgrounds, on our famous "gorge" whitewater river trip, and on our spectacular guided riverfront hike. This three-day mostly acoustic American and Canadian Roots music festival takes place at Henningsen-Lotus Park in Lotus, and at several Coloma Valley campgrounds. The "just for fun" Chili Bar Play Day whitewater rodeo at Chili Bar Hole, April 27, 1996. Competitors included locals and professionals such as Corran Addison, Rusty Sage, Brenda Ernst, Dustin & Brandon Knapp, Hilde Schweitzer, Dan Gavere, Tom Schiller, Erica Mitchell and Byron Cleary.
